When I was recently put in charge of putting together a small magic show, I warned the guy in charge that one of the performers was not up to my standards as far as being professional.
And sure enough, the day before the show, he contacts everyone saying that he couldn’t find anyone to help him with his act.
The DAY BEFORE! So, we had to ax that performer and figure out a good replacement. Yuck!
Herding cats indeed!
On a more encouraging note, I’m going to MAGIC LIVE later this year, and I’m going to meet a friend I’ve never actually seen. He lives in the Netherlands. So this should be fun.
Now he’s a professional close up magician, and I don’t do much closeup. So, I’m putting on my thinking cap and starting to work out exactly what material I could show him.
This should be fun.
